Overview

The 80 GHz radar level meter is a non-contact, high-frequency FMCW radar instrument built around the WKD18 sensor, measuring liquid and solid levels at distances of up to 70 m. Operating at 80 GHz, it produces a narrow beam from a small antenna, simplifying installation and reducing interference from tank internals.

Per the feature list, measurement is unaffected by steam, dust, foam, and temperature and pressure variation, making the meter suitable for difficult process conditions where ultrasonic devices struggle. The high operating frequency also suits low-dielectric media and solids/powder silos.

The meter mounts via a threaded base or flange sealing connection and is offered in the models KJD-80B, KJD-80D and KJD-80E. Setup uses four parameter codes: A (range setting), B (low-position adjustment), C (high-position adjustment) and D (blind-zone range).
