Overview

WELK Meters supplies special and industrial RTDs and thermocouples, including mineral-insulated (armored) thermocouples, for process temperature measurement up to 1300 °C. Thermocouple types S, K and E are available, with maximum service temperatures depending on element type, wire diameter (0.3–3.2 mm) and sheath material.

Per the catalog max-temperature tables, type S thermocouples handle long-term service up to 1300 °C; type K covers long-term 700–1200 °C depending on wire diameter; and type E covers long-term 350–750 °C. Armored thermocouples are offered with sheath materials including GH3030, GH3030+310S, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 and 316 stainless steel — GH3030 sheaths are rated for long-term service at 1100 °C, while 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 and 316 sheaths are rated for long-term service at 800 °C.

These sensors pair naturally with our temperature transmitters (such as the TY862 series) to deliver standard 4–20 mA or digital signals to your control system. Tell us your temperature, atmosphere and insertion requirements and we will configure the right element, diameter and sheath.

FAQ

Which thermocouple type should I choose for high temperatures?

Per the catalog tables, type S supports long-term service up to 1300 °C and is the choice for the highest temperatures; type K covers long-term 700–1200 °C depending on wire diameter, and type E covers 350–750 °C.

What sheath materials are available for armored thermocouples?

GH3030 and GH3030+310S high-temperature alloys plus 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 and 316 stainless steels. GH3030 sheaths are rated for 1100 °C long-term; the stainless options for 800 °C long-term.
